PubSubMessage

One message delivered on a PubSub topic, through PubSubMessageListener.

Every field is filled in by the SDK; the properties are writable only because the object is built in stages. Compare senderId with Room.localParticipant to tell your own echoed messages from everyone else's.

The server's message ID. null on a message the server delivered without one.

message

The message body exactly as it was published.

payload

var payload: JSONObject?

The structured payload sent alongside message, or null if the publisher sent none.

senderId

var senderId: String?

ID of the participant who published it.

senderName

var senderName: String?

Display name of the participant who published it.

timestamp

var timestamp: String

When the server accepted it, exactly as the server sent it — an ISO-8601 UTC string such as 2026-10-05T09:30:00.000Z. Empty if the server sent none.

topic

var topic: String?

The topic it arrived on — the same string passed to subscribe.
