getBuildId static method

Future<String> getBuildId()

Build stamp of the native engine underneath, as the platform SDK reports it — a commit-level identifier, not a version number.

sdkVersion tells you which Dart package you have; this tells you which native Android or iOS build it is driving. The two move independently, so showing both is what makes a bug report actionable.

Returns unknown if the platform does not report one or the call fails, so this is always safe to render.

Example

final buildId = await VideoSDK.getBuildId();
print('SDK ${VideoSDK.sdkVersion} · engine $buildId');

Implementation

static Future<String> getBuildId() async {
  try {
    final id = await _channel.invokeMethod<String>('getBuildId');
    return (id == null || id.isEmpty) ? 'unknown' : id;
  } catch (_) {
    return 'unknown';
  }
}
