Supported Device OS and Architecture - Flutter

The Flutter SDK v5.0.0 runs on Android and iOS only. It does not support web browsers, macOS or Windows. If your app ships on any of them, stay on v4.0.1. The migration guide covers the other changes in v5.0.0.

note

The following device OS versions represent the minimum required versions to ensure full support for the listed features.

FeatureAndroidiOS
AudioAndroid 7.0 (API level 24)iOS 18.0
VideoAndroid 7.0 (API level 24)iOS 18.0
Screen SharingAndroid 7.0 (API level 24)iOS 18.0
Picture-in-pictureAndroid 8.0 (API level 26)Not supported
Background blurAndroid 7.0 (API level 24)iOS 18.0

Sharing device audio with the screen (withAudio: true in VideoSDK.createScreenShareVideoTrack()) works on Android only. It needs Android 10 (API level 29) or later. On older versions, the screen is shared without audio.

Supported ABIs

ABIAndroid

armeabi-v7aSupported
x86_64Not supported
x86Not supported

x86 and x86_64 emulators are not supported. To run your app on an emulator, use an arm64-v8a system image.

tip

To keep Google Play from offering your app to devices the SDK does not support, build it for arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a only. Add ndk { abiFilters += listOf("arm64-v8a", "armeabi-v7a") } to defaultConfig in android/app/build.gradle.kts (ndk { abiFilters 'arm64-v8a', 'armeabi-v7a' } in a Groovy build.gradle). Then add disable-abi-filtering=true to android/gradle.properties (Flutter 3.41 or later). Without that line, Flutter adds its own ABIs and your filter has no effect.
